Who We Are Now

Who We Are Now

In the 1980s, the Inuit of Kingaok (Bathurst Inlet) bought into the Lodge. Currently, the ownership is split 50:50 between the Warner family and the Kapolak family, under their business arm, Kingaunmiut Ltd. Four generations of Inuit have been involved with the Lodge. Boyd Warner, son of Glenn and Trish, now manages the Lodge, joined by Sam and Allen Kapolak and biologist Page Burt, the staff naturalist.

Members of the Warner family and the extended Kapolak family are involved in all the lodge operations, from boat captains and guides to chef, housekeeping staff, and camp managers.

Bathurst is unique - our guests have the opportunity to get to know their Inuit hosts on a personal basis. Friendships form and people often keep in touch for years. About 20% of our guests return for a second, third, fourth (or more!) visits.
